Christopher Woods, Head of Industry for Financial Services, Google, Inc.

Christopher (Chris) Woods serves as Head of Industry for Financial Services and is based in Google’s Boston Office; he manages business relationships with the company's major financial services clients and their advertising agencies in the Northeast.

Prior to being promoted to his current position, Chris served as Senior Account Executive. In this role, he managed Google's relationships with C-level executives of Fortune 500 retail & manufacturing companies and served as a consultant to client executives, sharing new Google products and industry best practices.

Chris' past experience includes marketing and business development roles at Sony Corporation of America -- including their Sony Online Entertainment and Sony Retail Entertainment divisions -- and senior management positions with Screenvision in New York, where he built integrated cinema marketing campaigns for some of the world's largest advertisers.

Chris earned an MBA in Marketing/Management from New York University's Stern School of Business, where he focused on Entertainment, Media & Technology. He holds a BS in Finance from Boston College's Carroll School of Management.

Based in Cambridge, MA, Chris was named in 2008 to the Boston Business Journal's "40 Under 40" as a rising star among Boston civic and business leaders.

Chris is very involved in Boston-area philanthropic efforts, including serving on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children, the Board of Overseers for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston, and the Board of Directors for the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. He lives in Natick, MA with his wife and two children.

Mike Fanning, Executive Vice President, U.S. Insurance Group, MassMutual

Mike Fanning serves as Executive Vice President for MassMutual’s U.S. Insurance Group, which includes the distribution, marketing, product management, finance, compliance, systems applications and operations for all MassMutual insurance products sold in the U.S. – Life Insurance (individual and group), Disability Income and Long Term Care. Additionally, Mike has responsibility for MML Investor Services Inc. (the broker-dealer), and the MassMutual Trust Company. There are approximately 3,200 home office associates within these operations and 5,000 financial professionals in 85 agencies across the country.

Mike joined MassMutual in November 2006 as head of U.S. Insurance Group Service & Operations, which delivers service for all life, disability income and executive benefit products to over 2 million policyholders and financial professionals. Prior to joining MassMutual, Mike held several leadership posts at MetLife, including vice president of new individual business, where he was responsible for the underwriting strategy, operations, and medical departments. Before his work at MetLife, Mike was president and chief operating officer of Washington Square Securities, a full-service broker dealer for Reliastar Financial Corporation. He also operated his own financial services group of more than 250 registered representatives who marketed insurance and investment products.

Mike, currently a resident of North Andover, MA, earned Bachelor’s Degrees in both Economics and Organizational Behavior and Management from Brown University.
