Access for Persons with Disabilities
The BCEC is a fully accessible facility.
Ample accessible parking for people with disabilities is available in the BCEC's South Parking Lot, located at the South end of the facility. The lot is linked to the facility via an accessible pedestrian pathway. For larger events, the BCEC provides complimentary accessible shuttle service between the South Lot and the building.
For some smaller events, the BCEC's South Parking Lot may not be open. In such circumstances, accessible parking is available in the North Parking Lot, which can be accessed from East Side Drive off of Summer Street. A fully accessible path from the North Lot is available, via elevator from the parking lot level to the Plaza and the North Lobby.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) provides a range of public transportation services that can be used for travel to the BCEC. The Silver Line runs from South Station to the South Boston Waterfront. Guests traveling to the BCEC are encouraged to use the World Trade Center station. From there, they can access the BCEC via accessible sidewalks. Upon completion of the Westin Hotel (anticipated Summer 2006), Silver Line service will be modified to stop directly at the BCEC.
Bus service (MBTA Route 7) is also available from South Station to the Convention Center. Outbound buses (to the Convention Center) drop off just to the west of the facility on Summer Street. Inbound buses (from the Convention Center) pick up on the opposite side of Summer Street, at the corner of Summer Street and World Trade Center Ave. Accessible pathways are available from both of these bus stops to the BCEC.
